Group Life Insurance Scheme Launched For All Classmates

The Executive Council (EXCO) of the FEGO 7883 Class Set has introduced a Group Life Insurance (GLI) Scheme to give families of members immediate financial relief in the event of a member’s death.

What the scheme offers

The scheme is designed to help bereaved families meet urgent expenses without delay. Because the insurer pays the agreed benefit directly to the deceased member’s beneficiaries, the need for emergency group contributions is removed. Further benefits include support when a participant is hospitalised, as well as disability cover.

Who can join

The EXCO has urged every classmate, in all regions, to take part. Inclusiveness, it said, is a core mandate of its leadership, and no one will be left behind, wherever they are.

How to participate

  • Members qualify by paying the ₦30,000 annual dues for July to December 2025, and subsequent annual dues thereafter.
  • Members who have already paid may also support any other member they consider fit.
  • A paid-up member who does not wish to take part in the scheme may nominate another member to be adopted in their place.

The EXCO stressed that no additional financial burden is being placed on members beyond the annual dues, which begin from July 2025.

Next steps

Interested members are asked to contact the Executives for guidance on enrollment, requirements and any applicable contributions. Members may also raise questions to clarify concerns before joining.

“Together, we can take an important step towards securing our families’ welfare,” the EXCO said, adding that the scheme offers financial relief and some peace of mind when it is needed most.
